Cambridge Versus London

Cambridge and London are probably my top 2 places I love to take pictures of book covers. Cambridge, because not only is it famous, but because it was just a stones throw from me.

London, well, because it's London!

What I love about Cambridge is the quadruple row of phone booths. Though no longer in service, red phone booths in England are iconic. In some of them you will find a defibrillator, in others a free book lending library. I love how they are still being used in new ways.

What I love about London is it feels like a second home to me. I will always be a D.C. girl, but my second love is London. My typical routine includes taking the tube from Epping Station (and usually struggling to find parking) all the way to Waterloo. I pass by some tourist shops (and pop in if I need cheap souvenirs to send back home), then make a pit stop at the McDonalds. It is the only public restroom for quite a while and always has a long line. Finally, I grab a coffee at Pret A Mangere. Oh, and my all time favorite snack, a dairy-free (coconut milk) yogurt. Oh, how this lactose-free girl misses her yogurt fix at home.

Once caffeinated I step right outside Pret and take half my photos, with Big Ben, The London Eye, and Parliament in the background. Then I walk the short distance to Big Ben to get pictures up close (and some with a double decker red bus as well).

To be honest, I don't stop until my fingers cramp up from hitting the button on my camera too many times. I usually take 2 pictures (an extra in case the first is blurry) of about 100 different book covers.

Though the cover is blurry, this is my all time favorite picture because not only did I get Big Ben and a bus, but also in the reflection is The London Eye.

I love every part of it. What takes the most energy is posting them online and tagging all the authors. But, it's been worth it. I've made some great online friends in the author community.

What's next? I am working on a book called Author Content Marketing. It'll briefly touch on my travel adventures, but mainly it'll be about all the awesome stuff I've created to go along with my books. If you love DVD extras, you'll love my upcoming book bonuses. Especially my young adult fiction book coming in 2019. It's top secret, but I'll begin blogging about it, the totally amazing bonuses with it (one I've only seen one other author ever do), and sharing the cover soon.

So, stay tuned and maybe follow me on facebook or Instagram (click on pic at top of website) so you don't miss out on all the upcoming fun!
